HOMEWORK 1-30-13

Tonight we will practice place value with tens and ones.  You will use the IXL site.  Please remember that this one only lets you practice an activity for a certain amount of time before it "times out" for the day.

COMMENT BOX:
Write a number sentence that shows the value of the tens and the value of the ones in 82.  Think about how we have used the cubes in class.  81+1=82 is NOT a correct answer because it does not represent the value of the tens and the value of the ones.

CONGRATULATIONS to Abby, Dory, and Marissa for correctly answering this homework question! :)

Maddox,
Your number sentence states that 82 has the same value as 2+8. 2+8 means 2 ones plus 8 ones which has the value of 11.

Grace,
Your answer shows a model of 82. You have shown 8 groups of ten and 2 ones. You were asked to write a number sentence. A number sentence includes an operation (for 1st grade and in this situation that would have been addition)and an equal sign to show equal values.
